Goals
To create design professionals of high quality expertise: The program aims to provide
core professional knowledge, understanding and expertise to enable students with
skills that will allow them to handle a wide range of Landscape Design and Landscape
Planning projects.

To encourage creative thinking and experimental design: The program is committed
towards motivating innovative and radical ways of thinking which would lead to experimental
and creative designs.
Study Tours & Achievements
Such tours become a part of their study for all the students studying Architecture
as it helps them to broaden their outlook towards other cities and states and helps
them to evolve and relate modern Architecture from it’s past. Keeping this in view
certain tour programs were carried out in the past one year.
B. Arch. Students went on educational tour to Delhi and studied Qutub Complex, Jain
Temple, Lotus Temple, Humayu’s Tomb, I.H.C. and Pragati Maidan.
In January, 2007, another major trip was conducted wherein the interested students
visited to the South of India.
They visited South Indian Temples of Sriranga Patannam, Patakal, Aihole, Chamuda
Hills, Rock Cut Caves/ Temples of Badami.
There they also participated in the annaul gathering of students of Architecture
(NASA) held in Manipal and here they won on spot prize on event “Lost Paradise”
Site- Visits
Regular site-visits are carried out to enable the students to understand
the practical approach to the curriculam which not only helps them to relate the
text with the process undertaken on sites but also provides for an easy understanding
of the subject.
Market- Surveys
From time-time students of DIT Faculty of Architecture are asked to conduct
market-surveys to get in touch with the latest materials, their availability and
varied uses. It not only adds on to their professional growth but also helps them
to think & design in terms of the materials available not only in local as well
as international markets
